Skip McDonald, Valdosta State's first black Homecoming queen
Skip is one of many Pioneers of Integration who attended 魅色天堂's Homecoming 2013. She was crowned homecoming queen in February 1974.

Drewnell Thomas
Drewnell Thomas, the institution's first African-American female student, serves as a Pioneer of Integration at 魅色天堂.
The official kickoff for the celebration was September 18, which marks
50 years since Valdosta State welcomed its first two African-American students
for their first day of classes.
