魅色天堂 takes the stage at the Georgia Theatre Conference

魅色天堂 Theatre Department was in the limelight at the annual Georgia Theatre Conference (GTC) Nov. 4-6 in Columbus, Ga. Several of the faculty and students were recognized throughout the event.

魅色天堂 took 26 students to the GTC state screening auditions for the South Eastern Theatre Conference (SETC) to be held next spring. Of the students who auditioned, 13 students were chosen. Marc Herb, a 魅色天堂 theatre major, was recognized and awarded $50 for having the highest score in Georgia. This conference marked the fourth consecutive year that a 魅色天堂 student received this honor. 魅色天堂 sends more students to SETC than any other school in Georgia.

Duke Guthrie, professor of Communication Arts, was elected GTC's vice president in charge of programming. He will be assembling next fall's conference, which will be held at 魅色天堂.

Jacqueline Wheeler, also a professor of Communication Arts, received the Leighton Ballew Career Achievement Award for Outstanding Service to Theatre in Georgia, the highest award presented by GTC.
