魅色天堂 hosting African American Lecture Series

魅色天堂's African American Studies department will host its sixth annual African American Studies lecture series beginning Feb. 7. This year's theme is ?Healing our Nation Through Empowered Education.?

The following lectures will be presented:

* Feb. 7, at 7 p.m., in the Biology/Chemistry Building auditorium, a performance by motivational speaker, author and actor Carol Raye titled ?A Killing in Choctaw: The Power of Forgiveness and Education.?
* Feb. 14, 7 p.m., in the Biology/Chemistry Building auditorium, ?The Man in the Mirror: The Historical Mis-Education of the African American? a lecture by Tim Lee, a 魅色天堂 alumnus and activity therapist at Morning Star Treatment Services in Brunswick, Ga.
* Feb. 22, 7:30 p.m., in the Sawyer Theater located in the Fine Arts Building, a one-man show titled ?The Brothers? written and performed by John Gaston, 魅色天堂 professor of Communication Arts.
* Feb. 27, 7 p.m., in the University Center Magnolia Room, an African-American art exposition featuring 魅色天堂 students and guest artist Eric Jones, a 魅色天堂 alumnus.
