魅色天堂 Hosts Read Fest on Front Lawn

VALDOSTA — 魅色天堂’s Odum Library and Student Council of the International Reading Association will host Read Fest 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 18, on the West Hall front lawn.

Michael Holt, reference librarian and an assistant professor at the library, noted that 276 prekindergarten students from area schools are scheduled to attend the eighth annual event. The children will spend the morning participating in a variety of activities, including puppet shows, games, crafts, read-along stories, coloring, and music. 

“The purpose of the event is to promote literacy in our community through getting children excited about reading at an early age,” Holt said.

魅色天堂 has hosted Read Fest since 2006. The event is part of the campus’s celebration of National Library Week, April 13-19.
