For U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine military personnel interested in pursuing the Medical Enlisted Commissioning Program (MECP) or U.S. Air Force military personnel interested in pursuing the Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program (NECP), please contact the CONHS Advising Center to schedule a pre-application review appointment. We will discuss program admission requirements and application deadlines during this appointment. Potential students will also need to submit a leave earning statement to verify military status. Please submit your leave earning statement to the CONHS Advising Center (conhsadvising@valdosta.edu).

MECP & NECP applicants must submit an application for the nursing program through the Nursing and Health Sciences Application Portal by the appropriate deadline listed at the top of the BSN Admissions page.
MECP & NECP Application Process
IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR THE 魅色天堂 NURSING PROGRAM YOU MUST FIRST BE ACCEPTED TO THE UNIVERSITY; THESE ARE THE STEPS TO BE ACCEPTED TO THE UNIVERSITY:
A. First, submit an application, found on 魅色天堂’s main web page
You will first need to create a student account in Georgia Futures before you can complete the application, so do that first.
The APPLICATION FEE WAIVER for Active Duty or Separated Military Service Members must be uploaded with your application and can be found at
B. Second, update your FAFSA or satisfy the VERIFICATION OF LAWFUL PRESENCE.
C. Third, Submit transcripts from all your post-secondary education.
D. Fourth, an IMMUNIZATION FORM will be required prior to attending in-seat classes or select online only on your application if that is your intention.
This will satisfy your admissions folder and render a decision within a week.
A. If you were previously enrolled in a nursing program within the last five years, you must submit a petition to the School of Nursing Admissions and Progressions Committee for permission to apply to the BSN program. For the student petition, the student classification is pre-nursing. The petition type is other: Permission to Apply to the BSN program. Below is the link to the STUDENT PETITION FORM.
In addition to a student petition form, a letter of good standing is needed from the nursing school you were previously enrolled in. Please include official copies of your academic transcript as well.
IN ORDER TO BE ACCEPTED INTO THE BSN PROGRAM MANY OF YOUR PREREQUISITE COURSES WILL NEED TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO THE APPLICATION DEADLINE.
Students must work with an academic advisor to complete a plan in Degree Works showing all pre-requisite courses in Areas A-F will be completed by the time they would begin their cohort if accepted.
5 Year Rule
Courses in Area F older than 5 years at the application deadline must be retaken. The following courses are in Area F.

Courses in Area D.2.Bolder than 5 years at the application deadline must be retaken. The following courses are in Area D.2.B.

Repeat Policy
Minimum of “C” in each math and science course in Areas D.2.B and F. If a D or F is earned in any Area D.2.B or F course(s) it must be replaced with a C or better prior to application. Note: Only the C or better grade will be used when calculating the Nursing GPA. All attempts will be used when calculating overall GPA. The courses in Areas D.2.B and F are:

For acceptance, students must meet all of the School of Nursing admissions requirements.
Once students are accepted into the accelerated BSN program, the program is four semesters. Students enroll in the accelerated BSN program each May and graduate the following July (approximately 15 months). Each semester students are enrolled in the nursing program, students will be enrolled in 15 credit hours.
STUDENTS WHO COMPLETE THE HESI A2 EXAM AT A LOCATION OTHER THAN VALDOSTA STATE UNIVERSITY, PLEASE REQUEST FOR EVOLVE TO SEND YOUR OFFICIAL HESI A2 SCORES TO CONHSADVISING@VALDOSTA.EDU.

A. To eligible for admission into the nursing program, students must earn a 75 or higher in the following areas:Reading Comprehension

Math
B. If students take the HESI exam twice, the highest attempt will be used in the nursing admission decision.
