Tips for quick, efficient parking
- Ensure that you arrive early enough to locate a parking space prior to classes and/or meetings.
- When registering for classes, make sure that your schedule allows enough time to walk from one class to another. If you have to go to another area on campus, make sure that you have time to ride the bus or move your car.
- Be aware of the bus schedule and the locations where it stops.
- Make sure that your vehicle has a valid virtual permit and is not pulled-through a space; backed-in; or outside of your assigned area.
- If you have a temporary medical disability that requires special parking considerations, obtain a note from your doctor describing the length of the illness and special parking considerations. Take/provide this information to the Access Office. A representative from the Access Office will inform Parking & Transportation if a temporary medical permit is approved.
- You must have a state approved Disabled license plate or hanger in order to park in disabled spaces on the 魅色天堂 campus. Take/provide this information to the Access Office (link above). A representative from the Access Office will confirm that your plate/hanger is valid and inform Parking & Transportation. We will request a copy of your driver's license and disabled persons vehicle/hanger registration.
- When expecting visitors, please have them submit a Visitor Permit Application, which should be emailed to parking@valdosta.edu before the scheduled start date/time for the visit. Please refer your guests to the parking maps and guides provided on this website.
- Review the locations of assigned parking areas on campus where you can legally park.
- For your safety, review the locations of the emergency telephones on campus. Make sure that you know the proper operation of the telephones by calling the University Police dispatcher. Tell the dispatcher that you are learning how to use the emergency telephone. Your test call is welcome.
- Roll up all of your windows; turn your lights off; and lock your doors when parking your car. Try to leave valuables at home or conceal them in the car.
- If you receive a parking citation, make sure to pay it within ten (10) days from the day you receive the citation to avoid the addition of a late fee.
